MEDITATION Every Monday Evening Ongoing

From: 5:45-6:45PM. Heather Ash LMT, Yoga Instructor & Meditation Facilitator.

The word Vipassana is a Pali word simply meaning “insight.”  In this class we will dispel the myth regarding the need for a clear mind to meditate and, instead, develop the insight to find the stillness that underlies all of the mental and bodily noise gets in the way of inner peace.  Group meditation is a great way to learn all about meditation, connect with like-minded individuals, and harness meditative energy that you can carry through the rest of your week and home practice.  This style of meditation is very simple and and does not interfere with any other belief systems a person may hold.  Class structure consists of a 5-minute introduction, two 25-minute sits with a 5 minute break.  A perfect class for beginners through advanced meditators.  Sorry, once the first sit has begun, no late-comers will be allowed to enter until the break.  Cost $5 or Non-perishable food donation.

YIN YOGA Every Wednesday Evening Ongoing

From: 5:30-7:30PM. Heather Ast LMT, Yoga Instructor & Meditation Facilitator.

Yin yoga is a mindful yoga practice that harkens back to this original intention of preparing the body for seated meditation.  In Yin we will use lots of floor work with long holds to target specific Chinese meridians, chakras and joint structures in order to unblock energetic stuck-ness, unwind physical knots, and create more ease and comfort for long work days at a desk or in your other exercise routines.  This is a balancing practice that addresses our inability to truly relax even when curled up on the couch watching TV.  This class is friendly to beginners through advanced practitioners as you only go as deeply into a pose as your body allows.  Cost $15.

KARUNA REIKI, MASTER LEVEL 3 DAY INTENSIVE

DRUM MAKING WORKSHOP

She infuses her teaching with a sense of the sacred yet also with an underlying feeling of joy, laughter, and passion for the work she shares. Join us for a day of learning about drums, drumming rituals, and experience the true labor of “birthing” your own healing instrument. Through meditation you will connect to all parts of the drum, form the tree used for the fame to the animal used for its hide, to the actual intention and name of your drum.
