Temporo-Mandibular Joint (TMJ)

Temporomandibular joint dysfunction is an umbrella term covering pain and dysfunction of the muscles in and around the jaw. The most important feature is pain, followed by restricted movement of the mandible. I can help this condition by reducing the inflammation in the jaw through internal and external muscle palpation.

Torticollis (weak neck)

Torticollis is caused by the flexion, extension, or twisting of muscles of the neck beyond their normal stretching. The condition can either develop slowly if you have a family history of the disorder, or acutely from trauma, or as an adverse reaction to medications. The pain associated with Torticollis can be easily treated with specific clavicle and sternum muscle manipulation.

Whiplash

Similar to Torticollis, whiplash is an injury to the soft tissue of your neck when your head and neck are jerked in a ‘whipping’ motion. The treatments to whiplash are similar to the treatment of Torticollis with specific muscle manipulation.

Scalenes testing

[/content-right-aligned]
There are three muscles that run through your neck called the anterior scalene, medical scalene, and a posterior scalene. These muscles have uneven lengths (similar to the scalene triangle in geometry) and are in a crowded part of the neck. When tight they can lead to nerve entrapment which  can cause tingling or numbness in the hand, wrist, or arm. With scalene testing, I can reduce your overall discomfort and recommend stretches to help with pain.

Lumbar release  LBP (Low Back Pain)

Low back pain or lumbago is a common disorder involving the muscles and bones of the back. It affects about 40% of people at some point in their lives.  Manipulation of the “Core” muscles called Psoas & Iliacus  that run from your diaphragm to your inner thigh, can decrease your pain monumentally.

Neuro-muscular therapy

Neuromuscular therapy (NMT) is an approach to soft tissue manual therapy in which pressure is applied to soft tissue to stimulate skeletal lined muscle. During the last several decades, neuromuscular therapy (NMT) has emerged as a significant methodology for assessing, treating and preventing soft tissue injuries and chronic pain. By applying different amounts of pressure to the soft tissue, I can effectively stop muscle spasms.

Injury recovery (Sports)

Trigger points, also known as trigger sites or muscle knots, are described as hyper irritable spots in skeletal muscle that are associated with palpable nodules in taut bands of muscle fibers. I have extensive knowledge in relieving trigger points.

Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. (T.O.S)

The definition of thoracic outlet syndrome is neurovascular symptoms in the upper extremities due to pressure on the nerves and vessels in the thoracic outlet area. The area involved is the space between the ribcage and the collar bone, which is easily treated by muscle palpation and manipulation.

Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)

A frozen shoulder is medically referred to as adhesive capsulitis, also defined as a shoulder joint with significant loss of its range of motion in all directions. The range of motion is limited, not only when the patient attempts motion, but also when the doctor attempts to move the joint fully while the patient relaxes. Utilizing stretches I can reduce the overall pain and increase the R.O.M range of motion of the shoulder joint.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a progressively painful hand and arm condition caused by a pinched nerve in your wrist. A number of factors can contribute to carpal tunnel syndrome. I can help reduce the over all pain.

Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis (PLAN-tur fas-e-I-tis) involves pain and inflammation of a thick band of tissue, called the plantar fascia, that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes. Plantar fasciitis is one of the most common causes of heel pain. I can help reduce pain & increase ROM in the foot.

Piriformis Syndrome

Piriformis syndrome usually starts with pain, tingling, or numbness in the buttocks. Pain can be severe and extend down the length of the sciatic nerve (called sciatica). The pain is due to the piriformis muscle compressing the sciatic nerve, such as while sitting on a car seat or running. Pain may also be triggered while climbing stairs, applying firm pressure directly over the piriformis muscle, or sitting for long periods of time. Most cases of sciatica, however, are not due to piriformis syndrome.  I utilize Thai and Trigger Point skills to reduce pain and increase ROM.

Tendonitis

”Tennis elbow” and “golfer’s elbow” are the two most common types of tendonitis affecting the elbow.  If your palm is positioned facing forward, pain from tennis elbow is located on the outer, or lateral aspect, of the elbow. Golfer’s elbow is located on the inner, or medial portion of the elbow and forearm. Common causes of golfer’s elbow and tennis elbow include overuse, inadequate rest between playing, repetitive motion and strength imbalances.

Rotator Cuff Injuries

The rotator cuff is a group of muscles and tendons that surround the shoulder joint, keeping the head of your upper arm bone firmly within the shallow socket of the shoulder. A rotator cuff injury can cause a dull ache in the shoulder, which often worsens when you try to sleep on the involved side. Rotator cuff injuries occur most often in people who repeatedly perform overhead motions in their jobs or sports. Examples include painters, carpenters, and people who play baseball or tennis. The risk of rotator cuff injury also increases with age.

Neural Reset Therapy®

Muscles are controlled by the nervous system. Proper application of NRT resets the nervous system to release a muscle from excessive tension. With the release, the knots, pain and tightness are gone. Joint mobility and posture are improved.  No massaging of muscles,no deep pressure, no lotions or creams, no face down positions and client stays fully dres
